Position Purpose/Summary: The Production Planner works with customers, production, warehouse, co-workers and suppliers to establish optimum production schedules and run strategies.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or other relevant field
APICS certification preferred
Experience:
5 years' professional experience in a contract Manufacturing environment
Technology/Software:
Proven Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) proficiency
Proficient, knowledgeable and comfortable working with an MRP system, including item and Bill of material maintenance, forecast maintenance, sales order maintenance and purchase orders
Communication:
Communication skills in both English and Spanish (2nd Spanish preferred)
Strong motivating and team building skills (mentoring and coaching)
Physical Capabilities
Strength: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Movement: Regularly stands; walks; sits; uses hands to type, grasp/handle, or reach with hands and arms. May need to stoop, kneel or crouch.
Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.
Act as liaison between customers, CSR's, account managers and the plant to relay key data, execute orders and meet delivery dates.
Determines production priorities by analyzing manufacturing capacity, studying customer orders or forecast, and master production schedule needs while controlling inventory levels.
Monitors production by collecting production data, comparing progress to schedule, customer orders, and inventory.
Resolves scheduling problems by collecting and analyzing information, coordinating with co-workers and vendors to create a solution.
Release necessary materials and components from vendors using customer forecast, orders, inventory levels and production schedule in order to achieve established delivery dates for customer owned inventory only.
Input, monitor and maintain accurate data within internal company MRP system and external customer MRP systems (Navision, SAP, other)

On-going outcome that is measurable
Maintains all customer forecasts for sustainability of the accounts and production scheduling; action orders to release for the weekly schedule lock.
Maintains inventory accuracy of all customer owned inventory
Maintains a solid relationship with CSR's & account managers for their accounts
