Industrial Engineer / Process Improvement Supervisor
Location: Memphis, TN
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Salary Range: $60K - $100K (based on experience )
Dress Code: Business Casual
Position Overview
The Process Improvement Supervisor will analyze and enhance current warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and safety. This role involves process optimization, cost reduction, staff training, and collaboration with leadership teams to improve warehouse functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor current operations and implement efficient production processes.
Evaluate operational schedules, processes, and specifications.
Design production processes that optimize space, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Develop and implement process improvements and technological upgrades.
Design control systems to minimize operational costs and issues.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
Develop and execute safety plans, assess risks, and enforce policies.
Support purchasing, cost analysis, and production cost estimation.
Optimize facility layouts and determine staffing needs.
Assist in training staff and developing instructional manuals.
Manage process documentation and prepare production reports.
Support special projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and cost management.
Advanced expertise in machinery, tools, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to interpret technical plans, blueprints, and schematics.
Understanding of system interactions and their impact on operations.
Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD (or similar software like SolidWorks).
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Attention to detail and troubleshooting capabilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Organizational skills to manage large workloads under tight deadlines.
Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Projects & Responsibilities
Initially, the supervisor will oversee small projects such as:
Risk Analysis Matrix
Leader Standard Work (LSW) Implementation
Production Efficiency Optimization
Machine Downtime Analysis
Time Studies of Current Processes
Assisting with Evacuation Drills
Additional Expectations:
Experience with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
Collaborate with leadership teams (Shipping Supervisors, General Managers) to enhance processes and create SOPs.
Assist in coordinating process improvement projects.
