As the Global Quality Engineer Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Spellman's global quality strategy. As a multi-skilled, independent resource, you'll collaborate across teams to enhance quality systems, resolve complex customer issues, and drive product improvements. This dynamic, customer-facing position has opportunities to influence corporate quality initiatives and present solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
What You Will Do
Customer Focus: • Lead resolution of customer issues and product improvement projects in collaboration with Global Quality, Service & Repair, Product Development, and Sales teams.
Strategic Quality Planning: • Support developing and monitoring global quality goals, objectives, and KPIs while driving actionable improvement plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Partner with APQP/NPI teams, Service & Repair teams, and product development processes to enhance design, reliability, and manufacturability.
Supplier Quality: • Develop and manage a robust supplier quality system, ensuring compliance and driving improvements.
Data-Driven Analysis: • Analyze quality data to identify trends, initiate corrective actions, and ensure systematic root-cause solutions.
Product Development Support: • Actively participate in design reviews, phase-gate processes, and design-for-manufacturability reviews to embed quality into products from inception.
Corrective Action Leadership: • Drive CAPA activities using core quality tools to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Reliability Testing: • Lead reliability evaluations for components, subassemblies, and top-level products while conducting failure analyses and laboratory testing.
What You Need
Education & Experience: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with experience in electronics assembly. • Minimum ten years of experience as a Senior Professional or Engineering Manager • Proven experience with regulated quality systems such as ISO 13485, AS9100, FDA, MDR, or ISO 16949. • Strong background in Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis, FMEA, PPAP, and Gage R&R. • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. • Experience in multinational organizations with an ability to navigate cultural and language differences.
