The Group Reporting Data Consultant performs in-depth analyses, creates reporting solutions, and delivers market competitive business intelligence to internal and external customers, with the goal of improving the health, healthcare experience, and reduction in total cost of care for the employer group population. This position serves as a liaison between external customers (employer groups, brokers, consultants) and internal sales staff, fulfilling the role as the subject matter expert in preparing, presenting, and reporting key insights to employer groups. This position will work closely with clinical staff, technical staff, and various business areas to build a complete and comprehensive analytics story of an employer group's health care information.

Compensation
$72,000 - $86,000 annually Exempt 15

What you'll do
Independently analyze complex health data from employer groups, identifying trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement in areas such as claims trends, healthcare utilization, cost control, and quality metrics.
Lead the creation of clear, actionable reports and presentations that tell the "story" of employer group performance, using data to highlight strengths, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate across internal teams (clinical, financial, sales, IT, and analytics) to ensure alignment in interpreting data and communicating insights that support employer group health management and performance improvement strategies.
Collaborate with Group Sales & other internal staff in the delivery and presentation of a group's utilization analysis and health care patterns (trends, outliers, key utilization drivers).
In conjunction with Group Sales staff, work with external stakeholders, including brokers, vendors, and employer groups, to translate their data needs into tailored reports and recommendations that drive strategic decisions related to plan design, renewals, and cost containment.
Use business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create automated reports, visualizations, and dashboards that streamline access to key data and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
Act as the subject matter expert for employer group performance data, serving as a trusted advisor to internal teams and external partners on data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reports, collaborating with IT and analytical teams to resolve discrepancies and address data quality issues in a timely manner.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in data analysis and reporting, reducing manual work and increasing the efficiency of reporting functions.
Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in healthcare data analytics, incorporating best practices to continually improve analysis and reporting capabilities.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACA) when managing and reporting employer group data.
Assist in identifying business opportunities for employer groups based on data trends and support sales teams with data for RFPs and new business opportunities.
Provide training and guidance to other internal teams on interpreting and using employer group data to drive strategic decisions.
Provide direct project management support, support quality improvement projects, encourage data integrity.
What you need
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expertise in analyzing complex data sets, including claims data, healthcare utilization, and financial metrics, and translating findings into actionable business insights, preferred.
Advanced proficiency with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS) for creating automated reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly communicate data insights.
Ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, presenting data-driven recommendations that support their goals.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to diverse stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, in a clear and impactful manner.
Ability to work autonomously, managing multiple reporting projects concurrently while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and timeliness.
Knowledge of healthcare data models (e.g., ICD-10 codes, CPT codes) and claims data analysis, preferred.
Ability to think critically about healthcare trends, issues, and opportunities, using data to tell compelling, actionable stories.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to address data discrepancies and quality issues independently and effectively.
Familiarity with healthcare quality measures, population health management, and cost containment strategies, preferred.
Experience with SQL and data querying, as well as an understanding of database management and data warehousing concepts.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in health informatics, health administration, public health, business administration, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience collaborating with clients to deliver reporting solutions.
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS) and data visualization techniques.
Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACA) and/or reporting compliance requirements, preferred.
Relevant experience in health data analysis, reporting, or a related field, preferred.
Good communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment are preferred.
