Location: East Providence, RI

Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $60.00 USD Hourly

Description: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for establishing and optimizing manufacturing processes for a line of electromechanical and optical sensors. This role involves updating and writing procedures for assemblies to ensure efficiency and quality in production.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing methods.
  
  


• Maintain assembly methods, fixturing, and tooling.
  
  


• Contribute positively and proactively to discussions within a small, fast-paced team.
  
  


• Recommend and initiate manufacturing procedures.
  
  


• Coordinate inspection and assembly methods with suppliers.
  
  


• Demonstrate knowledge of electrotechnical assembly and box build processes.
  
  


• Lead the development of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts in accordance with design specifications.
  
  


• Provide technical support for manufacturing, ensuring world-class operational performance.
  
  


• Ensure robust production process capability and control, including documentation of process specifications.
  
  


• Lead process tooling development to optimize error-proofing and efficient labor application.
  
  


• Train production operators and coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products.
  
  


• Support ongoing production of mechanical and electronic assemblies and production processes.
  
  


• Support electrical testing of products, maintenance and improvements of test fixtures, and failure analysis of fixtures and failed assemblies.
  
  


• Design fixtures and systems to support production.
  
  


• Continuously improve existing products and production processes, focusing on quality improvement, cost reduction, and upgrades.
  
  


• Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), specifications, and drawings.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  
  


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electromechanical engineering, with optics experience being a plus.
  
  


• Familiarity with ISO procedures and certification.
  
  


• Basic problem-solving skills.
  
  


• Proficiency in basic engineering skills, such as blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing.
  
  


• Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
  
  


• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  
  


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and explain reports to senior management and peers.
