Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our large-scale civil construction projects. The Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring that construction activities are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in heavy civil construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage crews, subcontractors, and resources. Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the construction project, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of activities for heavy civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, earthworks, and site development.
Team Management: Lead and supervise the construction crew, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work is completed according to project specifications and safety standards.
Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate with other departments, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Safety Compliance: Ensure the enforcement of strict safety protocols on the job site to promote a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors. Conduct safety meetings, site inspections, and audits regularly.
Budget Management: Collaborate with the project manager to monitor project costs and resources to ensure the project is completed within the allocated budget. Provide accurate reporting on progress and costs.
Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any issues that arise on-site, including technical, logistical, or personnel-related challenges.
Progress Reporting: Maintain detailed daily logs and report on project progress, workforce activities, material delivery, and any other relevant information to project management.
Subcontractor & Vendor Relations: Manage and ensure efficient communication and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of materials and services.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure that all required permits, inspections, and documentation are completed and maintained. Keep accurate records of construction activities and performance.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction, with a strong track record of successfully managing large-scale civil projects.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, safety standards, and regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: OSHA certification (10-hour or 30-hour), First Aid/CPR, and other industry certifications preferred.
