Intern - Heavy Civil Engineer at Schiavone in New York, New York

Job Description:

• Work within a team of professionals in developing civil engineering plans and specification for projects
• Assist in producing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents
• Help to communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently
• Support team in completing tasks within budget and on schedule

• Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards & regulations

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or similar) Bachelor's degree program as rising Junior or Senior
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Availability to commit to our team for 12 weeks
• A basic understanding of the working concepts of Civil projects
• Ability to understand basic project components and analyze schematics such as engineering drawings and specs; estimates, change orders, and schedules.
• Strong technical skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Organizational ability - able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
