Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant Lead to support our healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. This role involves direct patient care, ensuring comfort, addressing concerns, and collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.
Essential Functions
Assist junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities, participating in onboarding and training.
Escort patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment, and obtain patient medical history, vital signs, weight, and height, recording all information accurately.
Educate patients by explaining treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions, providing educational materials as needed.
Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, completing insurance forms, and liaising with other departments while advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing, including performing phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.
Maintain inventory of immunizations, checking expiration dates to ensure compliance.
Administer immunizations (if applicable), requiring certification or three years of experience administering vaccines under provider supervision.
Support departmental quality initiatives, ensuring adherence to patient safety protocols such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.

No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Experience Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position. - Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments. - Accuracy and attention to detail. - Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations. - Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens. - Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols. - Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software. - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
