A Research Analyst position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alex Muir in the Ben May Department for Cancer Research at the University of Chicago. This position is ideal for a recent graduate in the sciences looking for research experience and technical skills prior to pursuing further graduate or medical training. The Ben May Department conducts cutting-edge research aimed at understanding the basic biology of cancer and leveraging this information to better care for cancer patients. The Department offers a collegial and collaborative environment featuring experts in a variety of diseases and experimental techniques. This makes the Department an ideal setting for recent graduates to work and learn about the breadth of modern cancer and biological research. The Muir lab studies the metabolism of pancreatic cancer - what nutrients pancreatic tumors consume and how they 'digest' these nutrients, with the goal of identifying key pathways that can be therapeutically targeted in pancreatic cancer patients. This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grant funding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds and satisfactory job performance.
