Job Description:

As a Quality Control Inspector, you play an essential role by verifying manufacturing processes, record results and provide feedback to supervision and management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Maintains quality standards by approving in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results

  • Approves in-process production and final units by confirming specifications; conducting visual tests; communicating required adjustments to supervisors.

  • Electro Mechanical/Visual Inspection- Incoming, Subassembly and Final Product

  • SMT and Plated Through Hole PCA Inspection

  • Use of hand tools, magnifiers, Inspection mirrors, torque tools, calipers, micrometers, height gauges etc.

  • Conduct First Article Inspection requirements

  • Team oriented, able to communicate inspection results within a team environment.

  • Utilize root cause and corrective action techniques to improve the process

  • Able to understand and follow manufacturing and engineering documentation, i.e. Bill of Materials, Engineering drawings, work instructions, etc.

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures

  • Quality Management System Database and process

Skills Preferred:


  • Familiarity with Industry specifications and standards

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620

  • ASQ - Certified Quality Inspector a plus

  • Preferred knowledge/certification of IPC 610 and IPC J-STD-001

  

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Three to six years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)

  • Analyzing information, documentation skills and promoting process improvement

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

·          Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, or Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software. Must also be able to perform limited troubleshooting.

·         Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight, volume and distance measurements, as well as American currency.

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
