SUMMARY: The Application Engineer will promote the SIS Insulated Bus product line within the North American market by providing technical assistance and support, visiting customers, and preparing technical documentation. Must have solid experience with switchgears and busbars!
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide technical advice and guidance to customers and partners on busbars and their applications • Assess requirements, including local standards and regulations, to develop tailored technical solutions • Support the planning, configuration and optimization of busbar systems • Provide technical project support from inquiry to commissioning • Develop detailed technical specifications and proposals • Work closely with internal teams, including Sales, Engineering, and Production • Support the Engineering team in enhancing and innovating busbar products • Create technical documentation, manuals, and training materials • Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams • Track market trends and emerging technologies in busbar systems • Integrate customer and market feedback into product enhancements and market strategies for the North American market
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) • 3+ years' experience in the application and development of electrical products in the field of medium-voltage bus and/or switchgear in the North American market • Experience with CAD tools and electrical simulation software • A proactive, solution-focused mindset and approach • Excellent communication skills paired with a strong customer centric attitude • A team player with the ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal (German or willingness to learn German a plus) • Willingness to travel within North America and to Germany • Initial training phase will require extended visits to Germany
