The Quality Manager's role will be to develop, plan, implement, monitor, and lead all aspects of Precision Metal Products' quality assurance activities to ensure continuous compliant production consistent with established engineering standards and designed to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the quality management system, lead management review meetings, and audit the quality manual in compliance with AS/ISO/EN requirements.
Plan, develop, organize and direct the implementation of the company philosophy/vision Supervise and ensure that all test procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated and that all documents are maintained.
Provide the tools, staff support, and training required for on-the-floor quality control during all hours of operation Provide QA resources and expertise throughout the company.
Provide leadership and direct supervision of QA Develop, evaluate, improve, and maintain existing SQA, and QA programs, including but not limited to customer satisfaction, inspection, finished product specification, environmental testing, visual product standards, GMPs, crisis management, and vendor certification.
Ensure compliance with company and customer standards as well as federal and state standards and regulations.
Responsible for calibrating all measuring and test equipment, including record maintenance.
Investigates, addresses, and resolves internal and external customer complaints regarding quality.
Liaise with the responsible department manager(s), supply chain, and customers. Maintains non-conformance with corrective/preventative action processes to facilitate the resolution of non-conforming issues.
Confer regularly with Plant management to plan, coordinate and evaluate goals and objectives, investigate, and resolve problems, exchange information, etc.
Supervises and trains receiving, in-process, final inspection, and testing activities. Is responsible for maintaining all test records.
Develop additional inspection and testing procedures as needed to ensure the quality of our products and maintain a warranty level of less than 1% of gross sales.
Handle customer calls to troubleshoot malfunctioning products in the field and resolve technical problems. This may require travel and field service supervision.
Manage auditing process from various outside agencies.
Adheres to company Quality Management System policies and procedures to ensure product quality.
Experience and Education
Required bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Quality, or Management is preferred; Continuing education in pursuit of ASQC certification plus ISO 9001 experience will be considered
More than ten years' experience in a quality assurance role, including leadership experience.
Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing professional preferred.
Proven leadership capability and team development and accountability.
Familiarity with Brown and Sharep PC SIMIS CMM Software.
Demonstrated analytical and data-based decision-making skills, statistical sampling and analysis, and proficiency with Mintab statistical software.
Experience with Aerospace/Defense products.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools, such as 8D, A3, FMEA, 5 whys, etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Well organized with focused attention to detail.
Excellent decision-making skills.
Must be willing and able to travel domestic and international (Travel time is less than 5% per year).
Technical Skills
Ability to use a computer and knowledge of Office 365.
Advanced skills with all MS Office products Ability to use hand and automated measuring equipment.
Ability to use statistical software such as Minitab a plus.
