Job Title: Purchasing & Inventory Analyst

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing & Inventory Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring a seamless supply chain operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of purchasing principles, demand forecasting, and supplier management to support business objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Procurement:
  • Manage purchasing processes, including supplier selection, negotiation, and order placement.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and materials.
  • Analyze purchase requests and ensure compliance with company policies and budget constraints.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track key metrics, and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Inventory Management & Analysis:
  • Monitor inventory levels and analyze trends to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize shortages and overstock situations.
  • Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to enhance inventory flow and efficiency.

Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Utilize data analytics to forecast demand and determine optimal purchasing decisions.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, purchasing trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives to streamline procurement and inventory operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work with finance, sales, and operations teams to align inventory strategies with business needs.
  • Support product lifecycle management by coordinating with relevant departments on stock replenishment and phase-outs.
  • Assist in ERP system updates and improvements related to purchasing and inventory modules.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory analysis.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools is a plus.
