The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operations of a manufacturing facility. They ensure that the machinery, equipment, processes, and systems in the facility are functioning efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of machinery, equipment, and systems within the manufacturing facility, including conducting regular inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring preventive maintenance measures are in place.
Collaborate closely with Process Engineers and production teams to identify opportunities for optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs. Drive the implementation of these improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational and equipment issues swiftly to minimize production downtime, often in partnership with Process Engineers.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, implementing necessary safety protocols to mitigate hazards and promote a safe working environment.
Lead the planning and execution of engineering projects within the manufacturing facility, including the installation of new equipment and modifications to existing processes. Coordinate project execution with the Process Engineering team.
Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to maintain or improve product quality, identify defects, and work with Process Engineers to implement corrective actions.
Manage the facility's budget, focusing on controlling costs associated with maintenance, repairs, and capital investments.
Ensure the facility adheres to environmental regulations and champions sustainable, eco-friendly practices.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment specifications, and other key data, ensuring that the Process Engineers do the same for their areas of responsibility.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
Experience:
5-10 years of experience in manufacturing environments.
Proven experience in a managerial role.
A strong record of successfully leading engineering projects.
Experience with Process Engineering is highly beneficial.
