Resource Label Group is seeking an Order Engineer to join our manufacturing plant in Franklin, TN. The individual will leverage available information to maintain complete and accurate job-specific records within the ERP system, thereby aiding manufacturing in producing items that meet customer specifications. Additionally, this role supports multiple departments in product development/project management and analyzes the accuracy of job cost estimates.

The Order Engineer will support Customer Service and Manufacturing, ensuring job-specific information is accurate to job estimate and manufacturing design intent. This role involves understanding customer needs and manufacturing capabilities, creating ERP components, allocating materials, and providing pricing and purchasing support. The Order Engineer will also work closely with Manufacturing to correct errors and stay updated on new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the central point for reviewing customer service created job tickets for accuracy, and ensures the collection and implementation of corrections or changes requested by the shop floor or quality control.
  • Design, develop, and enhance RFID, flexographic, and digital print products.
  • Partner with various departments to ensure product quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead product development projects and leverage internal technical support to ensure design feasibility.
  • Support Operations by analyzing job cost and revenue performance data to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement. This includes comparing actual job costs and revenues against estimates, generating detailed performance reports, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Estimating team to review and update job cost estimates based on performance analysis, ensuring future estimates are more accurate.
  • Carry out all duties in strict adherence to the documented Quality Management System, ensuring that every task aligns with established protocols and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with any third-party certifications, upholding the integrity and credibility of these certifications through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to specified guidelines.
  • Adhere to lean and 5S methodologies within their work areas to promote efficiency, organization, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the role is expected to comply with any and all safety, HR, and job specific training requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum two (2) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, software systems, and ERP
  • Capable of learning new systems and automated workflows
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
