About the Role:
Colorado National Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee the daily on-site operations of our commercial projects, from assisting in the initial planning to successful completions. In this role, you will manage subcontractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and uphold the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including interior renovations and ground-up builds, while traveling to various locations across the U.S.
We are currently projecting many of these projects to be in the Seatle Washington area.
Key Responsibilities: • Project Oversight: Collaborate with the Project Manager to review scopes of work, manage site logistics, and oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, subcontractor & vendor coordination, and timely execution of deliverables. • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and trades, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to CNC's standards. • Scheduling: Develop and manage project master schedules, 3 week-schedules, and required updates to ensure milestones are met. Address challenges proactively to keep the project on track. • Safety Leadership: Enforce compliance with CNC safety guidelines to meet or exceed OSHA compliance and promote a Safety-First culture across the job site. • Quality Control: Regularly inspect work progress, ensure alignment with plans and specifications, and maintain clear and concise communication with all team members, subcontractors, suppliers and building officials. • Reporting: Provide accurate daily logs and weekly progress reports, track resources, and manage punch lists to ensure timely project closeouts.
Qualifications: • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience as a Superintendent or similar role. Experience with Commercial ground-ups, tenant finishes, renovations and buildouts. Restaurant and Retail experience is a plus. • Strong ability to interpret and execute construction plans, blueprints, and specifications. • Ability to effectively lead, manage and positively motivate teams while driving tight construction schedules. • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with project team, customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and employees at all levels of the organization. • Understand construction scheduling and sequencing, and cost control. • Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes. • Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask. • Possess strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Bluebeam or similar. • OSHA 30 Certification • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to changing project needs and locations. • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required. • Active and valid Driver's License.
