Nemours is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Tech (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) is required to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The individual should be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of these duties. The BMET may serve as technical advisor to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and use of clinical equipment. This position also assists in developing specifications for the selection of new clinical equipment. • Frequently required to reach pull, and/or employ fine motor skills during installation, servicing and maintenance of medical equipment
• Frequently required to operate tools/machinery that use hand and/or foot controls (e.g drills, saws, electronic test equipment) when servicing medical equipment.
• Frequently required to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50lbs while working with medical equipment
• Must have the ability to work well with others
• Regular attendance is required
• Good communications skills are required
• May be required to work non-standard hours when on-call
• Regular attendance is required.
• Must be able to perform in a face paced environment and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) monthly
• Must be able to travel for training opportunities to continue education, and also drive to remote locations to provide medical repair/pm services.
• Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned

Technical Service - 40%

• Associate's Degree in a technical/electronic field or equivalent military training required. Equivalent work experience can be considered in lieu of degree/military training.
• Experience working with biomedical equipment in a Clinical Engineering environment required.
