The assistant director will be a vital partner with the senior associate director of alumni networks for Alumni Engagement. The position will be responsible for designing and implementing programs and initiatives that foster a culture of inclusion and belonging for University of Richmond (UR) alumni and enrich the constituents' lifelong relationship with the University.
The assistant director will support and manage specific affinity-based alumni networks, including, but not limited to, the University of Richmond Black Alumni Network (URBAN), LGBTQ+ Spiders, the Multicultural Programming Board, and First-Generation alums, by providing avenues to build community. Affinity-based programs are focused on cohorts of alumni with a shared interest and/or experience.
This position entails direct management of volunteers, fiscal oversight of the program budget, and all facets related to programmatic management.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Position requires travel on average 8-12 days of the month and comfort level with travel to major metropolitan areas.
Position frequently requires work on evenings and weekends.
Position requires work on reunion and homecoming weekend.
Ability to lift at least 20 pounds from a standing position.

Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Accounting principles and recordkeeping also are essential.
Knowledge of constituent databases, including Blackbaud CRM, as well as web-based software, including BBIS is preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Three years of progressive responsibility and leadership in a college/university alumni relations or parallel setting, or a combination of education and experience.
