Overview
As a CAD technician, you’ll provide technical drafting support and assist in the preparation of plans for a wide range of municipal and transportation infrastructure projects. This includes reviewing engineering drawing packages in collaboration with project managers and engineers. You’ll work on planning documents, preliminary designs, detailed designs, and permitting documents. The CAD technician reports to the project manager.
Responsibilities
• Draft detailed drawings using Microstation or Autocad for use in reports for civil water and wastewater projects.• Transform initial rough designs, sketches, and mark-ups into finished plan drawings.• Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established company or client CAD standards.• Facilitate review and preperation of engineering drawing packages with project managers and design engineers.• Understand and adhere to project budgets, schedules, and quality control requirements.
Qualifications
• Associate of Science in Engineering Technology.• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D software. Experience using client specific CAD Manuals, Templates, Sheet Set Manager, Fields, XREFs and XREF Views on Sheets, Annotative Text, Survey Files, Points, Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles, Pipe Networks, Grading, Data Shortcuts and Data Referencing, and a Proactive Design Drafting Approach to drawing production• This office job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs.
