Responsibilities

The Manager, Integrations Engineering leads a team of talented engineers focused on business-to-business (B2B) integrations, with a strong emphasis on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in EDI standards, file transfer protocols, and ETL, and web services integration, along with proven leadership experience. This role will involve overseeing the team's day-to-day operations, driving technical excellence and innovation, and ensuring seamless, reliable data exchange between internal systems and external partners.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and mentor a team of Integration and support engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of integration and support projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align integration solutions with business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT) and file transfer protocols (e.g., SFTP, AS2).
  • Ensure the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient integration solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance system performance, and improve data accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies to optimize integration processes.
  • Communicate project statuses, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to integrations and file transfer protocols.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing hands-on support when needed.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Strong knowledge of data exchange protocols (e.g., SFTP, AS2) and EDI mapping/translation preferred.
  • Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and file formats (e.g., XML, CSV) preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred.
  • Experience with API integrations to support B2B data exchange alongside EDI preferred.
  • Proven experience with EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT) and EDI tools/platforms (e.g., Evision Tie Kinetix, Cleo, SPS Commerce) preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION

The position functions with supervision. Position directly supervises 4-8 employees.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field plus 5+ years of experience in EDI or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP), cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred.
