About the role
We are looking for a Mission Support Technical Engineer (MST) who is highly skilled in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting mission-critical systems in dynamic environments. This role demands a strong background in hardware and software troubleshooting, system calibration, and real-time problem solving. The ideal candidate will have experience with sensor calibration (Lidar, Navigation, Encoder), network troubleshooting, and data collection, as well as proficiency in JIRA for issue tracking and MPU5 for RF communications. You should be comfortable working in field operations, setting up and managing sites, and ensuring seamless deployment of mission-critical systems.
What you"ll do
Conduct Demo Operations, ensuring system functionality in real-world scenarios.
Adhere to Safety Standards and operational protocols to ensure secure deployments.
Perform Hardware Troubleshooting and Software Troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
Execute Encoder Calibration, Navigation Calibration, and Lidar Calibration for system accuracy.
Perform Extrinsic Calibration to align sensors and improve operational effectiveness.
Manage Run Site After Setup procedures, ensuring site readiness for operations.
Oversee Data Collection and Pulling Data from various sources for analysis.
Utilize JIRA for reporting and tracking general issues and bug tickets.
Set up and troubleshoot MPU5 communication devices.
Support Site Operations, ensuring seamless deployment of mission-critical systems.
Perform software updates, including:
ATAK Software Updates.
Puck Software Updates.
WMI Software Updates.
ATAK/PUCK/WMI Troubleshooting.
Operate and troubleshoot HMP GUI systems.
Configure and set up RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) Systems for precision operations.
Manage Terralink Operations for network communications.
Conduct A-Kit Hardware Upgrades, ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting.
Familiarity with sensor calibration, network configuration, and data collection methods.
Understanding of RF communication (MPU5) and software update procedures.
Ability to work in dynamic environments and travel to field sites as needed.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Travel up to 70% of the time to support field operations and mission deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in networking, system administration, or RF communications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.).
Experience with military, defense, or mission-critical operations.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and troubleshoot complex systems in high-pressure scenarios.
Education & Experience
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent technical experience.
Experience with JIRA or similar issue-tracking systems.
US Salary Range $80,000 - $90,000
Location: Clarksburg, MD w/ up to 70% travel - includes Foreign and Domestic
