This position is open to anywhere in the US and requires travel about 2 times per month or based on client need.
MGAC Technology Solutions Group is a global leader in delivering technology owner’s representation and program management services. MGAC is seeking a Technology Project Manager who is highly experienced in managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology consulting as part of hospital design and construction. The Technology Project Manager will be a critical contributor in a high-performing team by overseeing project development of low voltage designs, technology systems requirements, systems procurement process, and owner-direct technology solutions for inclusion in hospital design and construction projects. The individual serving in this position will have demonstrated experience in client-facing roles and leading complex design and construction projects, coordinating project consultants and designers, coordinating client stakeholders, and advising clients on options and recommendations.
While this role does not focus on design or engineering scopes, it does require technical understanding of typical hospital technologies as well as the methods by which they are planned, designed, procured, and implemented. Of particular importance for this role are the experience and skills necessary to effectively organize and manage the processes, governance, KPIs, team-wide communications, and risks inherent to managing comprehensive low voltage and technology elements beginning with schematic design and continuing through go-live of hospital construction projects.

  • Minimum 7-years of relevant project experience including
  • 5-years acting in a similar role with similar core responsibilities
  • Formal degree or certifications in Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Proven portfolio of successful projects in the Architectural / Engineering / and Construction industry managing scopes of work involving planning, coordination, and delivery of low-voltage, technology, and healthcare-oriented systems
  • Proven track record including hospital replacement or campus modernization projects is preferred
  • Professional referrals from clients, project partners / coworkers, or managers
  • CCNA / CCNP, preferred but not required
  • BICSI RCDD, preferred but not required

  • Program Development & Management
  • Proactively and independently organize and prioritize responsibilities as well as provide articulate and concise communications across project teams
  • Quickly bring valuable expertise and leadership to existing project teams and clients
  • Participate in the style of a trusted advisor proactively providing consultation, advisement, guidance, and analysis to client leaders and stakeholders.
  • Participate with project leaders in maintaining alignment of scope, schedule, and budgets for successful delivery of technology program components.
  • Develop and manage technology program management scopes into detailed project work plans including process durations, deliverables milestones, client decisions, points of coordination with other project partners, as well coordination of these work plans with the broader project schedule.
  • Develop, manage, and lead project documentation and record-keeping procedures including communication protocols, decision logs, and project history

  • Design & Coordination
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of architectural & low voltage design phases, team coordination processes, project roles & responsibilities, drawings & specifications, deliverable quality, as well as KPIs/priorities for successful technology projects.
  • Participate with technology vision team to organize, define, document, and proactively manage implementation of client vision and project’s technology roadmap
  • Manage technical workstreams by which the clients subject matter experts deliver performance and design requirements, options analysis and decisions, as well as systems coordination and direction to designers and systems contractors.
  • Participate in proactive identification and management of project risks, contingency planning, schedule recovery, and budget recovery
  • Support oversight of design team deliverables including design programming, narratives, systems coordination, drawings & specifications, cost opinions, deliverables, bidding support, and construction administration
  • Oversee peer review and constructability reviews of design team narratives, plans, specifications, and value engineering strategies
  • Maintain collaborative and productive relationships with project team partners including clients, general contractor, subcontractors, system vendors, and internal team

  • Procurement & Implementation
  • Coordinate procurement procedures for low voltage, technology, specialty systems, and deployment vendors including documentation, scheduling, bid analysis, vendor interviews, and decisions for award
  • Oversee peer review and constructability reviews of contractor team submittals, documentation, and value engineering recommendations
  • Oversee coordination of vendor invoicing, client procurement protocols, vendor contract progress, claims/change orders, and other potential additional services
  • Coordinate field teams to ensure timely observation of construction and deployment progress and milestones
  • Oversee coordination of construction master schedule with vendor schedules, contractor workplans, commissioning activities, owner equipment installations, testing, and closeout.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining trust-based relationships with our clients and proactively identifying potential new project opportunities

Salary advertised is a broad base and is dependent upon various factors such as experience, expertise, and location. This salary base does not include the full compensation package, which may include bonus, 401(k) up to 8% matching, and other benefits.
