CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our CALIBRE Innovation Center. In this role, you will be at the forefront of modernizing and optimizing Kubernetes-based platforms for government clients, leading engagements from initial requirement gathering to full implementation and delivery.
As a trusted technical advisor and advocate, you will collaborate with clients to design, deploy, and enhance Kubernetes management solutions tailored to their unique needs. Your work will drive efficiency, automation, and security across containerized environments, ensuring clients achieve mission success. This role offers an exciting mix of hands-on technical work, customer collaboration, and thought leadership in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
Position will require travel within the United States.
U.S. Citizenship is required / Must have an Active Secret Clearance
8+ years of experience in software development, software engineering, cloud deployment, and/or Kubernetes platform management.
Extensive experience with Kubernetes orchestration platforms (e.g., EKS, OpenShift, or other enterprise Kubernetes distributions) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, VMware, etc.).
Deep understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and OCI-compliant runtimes.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.) and DevSecOps methodologies.
Strong security expertise, including container security, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning, and compliance in government environments.
Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes API interactions.
Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues in distributed systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a passion for problem-solving.
Ability to travel within the U.S.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret or higher security clearance.
Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with DoD and U.S. Government cybersecurity authorization processes.
Relevant Kubernetes, RHCE, and/or cloud certifications.
Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and tools such as Flux or ArgoCD.
Experience working in hybrid cloud and edge computing environments.
Solution Architecture & Implementation: Lead the design and deployment of Kubernetes-based platform solutions, ensuring they align with client objectives and industry best practices.
Client Engagement & Advisory: Serve as a technical advisor, guiding clients through Kubernetes adoption, optimization, and scaling strategies.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Implement automation strategies for provisioning, deployment, and operations using tools like Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Security & Compliance: Ensure Kubernetes platforms adhere to strict security best practices, compliance standards, and government cybersecurity policies.
Troubleshooting & Optimization: Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve platform issues, enhancing reliability and performance.
Training & Enablement: Educate and mentor client teams on Kubernetes platform management, empowering them to maintain and evolve their deployments.
