Safety Lead
This position is located in our Yadkinville, NC Facility.

The Safety Lead is responsible for ensuring pro-active compliance with all identified environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements that are established by the Plant and Corporate Safety. This position will ensure that all safety policies and procedures are being carried out at the facility. This position will conduct safety training, audits, and additional task assigned by EHS Manager. In addition, the safety Lead will be Responsible to respond to Plant accidents/incidents and render first aid as needed.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate facility and employee compliance of all environmental, health and safety requirements.
Lead safety committee and maintain regular communications; participate in planning activities that will align committee with plant objectives.
Champions the development of site-specific procedures that support environmental, safety and health initiatives of the facility.
Report all food safety/quality problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action. Responsible to make sure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely.
Conduct Hazard/risk assessment and assist with elimination of Hazards.
Assist with tracking and maintaining all EHS related documents.
Assist/lead accident, first aid, and near miss investigation using Root Cause Analysis and provide appropriate solution.
Required to be a member of facility First responders and render First Aid/CPR to any employee.
Conduct Health screening such as hearing test, blood pressure checks, etc...
Assists in Office tasks such as filing, printing, reporting, purchasing, handling vendors, maintaining Chemical SDS. and record keeping.
Ability to work overtime and nonstandard shifts as needed.
Must be able to be on call for afterhour’s emergency response on occasion.

Follow all GMP’s and Safety Procedures
May perform other duties as assigned
Experience, Skills, Education:
High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
3-5 Years’ Experience in a related field
General Knowledge of State, Federal, and Local Safety and Environmental Regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
Certified Trainer in Forklift, Aerial/scissor lift Operator
Possess a strong Attention to detail to Ensure Proper tracking and reporting
Effective Communication Skills: Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Familiar with Root Cause Analysis
Demonstrated Organizational Skills
Reading/Comprehension Abilities
Demonstrated Leadership Capabilities
Ability to Work Independently & Manage Time Wisely
Ability to Identify Problems and Respond Accordingly
