Responsibilities


Position Summary

The Assistant Director of HRIS & Compensation is responsible for program and project management of all HRIS related activities, from configuration, data security, and metrics/dashboard creation through ongoing system maintenance and oversight, and Compensation activities, including job evaluation, salary grade tracking, structural pay changes, and compensation programs, such as merit and profit sharing. The role oversees the onboarding process for all new hires.

Job Responsibilities

Data and HRIS Management

  • Partner with Director as primary owner of HRIS and system use for various stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development, planning, scheduling, and execution of HRIS projects and configuration changes, monitoring impact on HR and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and produce a monthly HR/Organizational Health Dashboard, reported by location, to assist location and corporate leadership to monitor and evaluate trends.
  • Program HRIS to deliver relevant data, dashboards, and ad-hoc reporting for all users.
  • Manage the vendor contacts for the HRIS and other related systems and integrations.

Compensation Program Management

  • Partner with Director to lead job evaluation efforts and salary grade tracking.
  • Assist with offer evaluations and approvals, including new hire pay assignments.
  • Manage and update pay changes and approvals for current staff.
  • Evaluate salary at the department / grade / peer level to determine issues of compression, inequity, and/or inconsistencies and rectify through leadership review and approval.
  • Evaluate salary grade structure and benchmark changes as requested.
  • With Director, lead annual compensation programs such as merit increases, STI payout, and profit-sharing distribution, including assisting with training for leaders, providing tools and resources for leaders that enables collecting and analyzing relevant data for approval, sending reports to partners at American Airlines, and processing changes in conjunction with Payroll team.

Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Create, initiate, and maintain Change Management processes for all HRIS changes in conjunction with contacts at Piedmont to prevent system disruptions due to alterations.
  • Ensure the integrity of the HRIS and Compensation database by routinely auditing data and processes.
  • Continuously work to improve data integrity by reviewing and evaluating data and processes for potential improvement.
  • Safeguard data so access to private information is granted on a need-to-know basis through management of role-based security for users.
  • Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.

Customer Relations and Service Management

  • Set team performance goals and metrics, timelines and a formal tracking process to measure and manage progress.
  • Act as the main contact and administrator for the HRIS system and Compensation program, providing user support for both areas, including researching and resolving problems as needed.
  • Write, maintain and support a variety of complex HR or Compensation reports or queries utilizing the appropriate reporting tools.
  • Partner with stakeholders at American Airlines and Piedmont to produce requested reports.
  • Provide training and assistance to leaders with respect to Compensation programs, including merit and profit sharing.
  • Provide training to HRIS users to develop their skills in running and creating reports.
  • Conduct beta and user acceptance testing and provide feedback on new functionality, upgrades, patches, etc.
  • Lead in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS upgrades or patches.
  • Work with various other HR and Non HR functional areas (such as Payroll and Benefits) in setting up their HRIS needs (e.g. annual benefits enrollment).
  • Support future application needs of PSA by participating in User Groups and Committees.
  • Serve to support the vision and purpose of the HR department.

Onboarding

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition leaders to support hiring activities.
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process to ensure it is a first-class experience and within compliance.
  • Lead and drive operational efficiencies to ensure a strong end to end onboarding process.
  • Hold all parties accountable to their respective responsibilities in the recruiting process.

Position Specifics


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • 5-7 years experience working in Human Resources.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience working with an HRIS
  • 3+ years’ experience in data analysis required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in database maintenance required.
  • Proven experience managing and developing compensation programs and delivery.
  • Track record of success maintaining confidentiality at the highest levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to read, right, speak English.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to work in the US.
Preferred
  • Previous experience using the Workday system.

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This position is a supervisory responsibility.
Delegation: In absence, the Director of Talent Management with handled and assign activities.
