The Electrical Process Engineering Supervisor supervises an Electrical Process Engineering Team. They manage and control all aspects of Electrical Test Equipment and make modifications to existing or new equipment to ensure the equipment meets Product Engineering requirements.
In this role they:
Review product changes that drive a modification to electrical test equipment. Major electrical test equipment includes: All handheld testers, flash station, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Roll Test and ADAS.
Once the modification is understood, they make recommendations back to product that would reduce Capex spending and/or transformation costs.
After an agreement with Engineering on the proposed change - the Supervisor leads his team to achieve the most cost-effective solution. This includes:
Can the existing equipment be modified to meet the requirements
Can re-use available assets be used to meet the requirements
New equipment will be required to meet the requirements
Once direction is established the supervisor and their team oversee the action to get the equipment ready for the product change and pilots. This includes:
Having the engineers write a detailed scope of work
Work with purchasing and send out Requests for Quote
Preform a technical review of the quotes
Work with Purchasing on supplier selections
Write MEDDs and get a Purchase Order from Purchasing
Once a supplier is on-board the supervisor and their team oversees:
Supplier timeline and ensures engineering requirements met.
Organizes detailed design review
Obtains required product parts for validation
Oversee the build and installation of the new equipment
Validate the equipment meets engineering requirements
During this process the Supervisor and team - document all lessons learned and update the equipment standard for future use
Electrical Process Supervisors support and coordinate all required changes at the assembly plants in US and Canada. In addition, they work with the Global Team to define global standards
