About the Job

The Director Pricing and Payer Evidence position involves analyzing market trends, competitor pricing, customer behavior, and evidence requirements to develop effective pricing strategy and models that maximize profitability while remaining competitive. This role typically includes conducting thorough market research to understand pricing dynamics and evidence gaps, collaborating with various departments such as Payer Relation & Reimbursement (PRR), Market Access & Policy (MAP), Product, Clinical Development, Revenue & Access, and Sales and Marketing, and developing pricing strategies that reflect the company's goals.

Specifically, this workstream leader is responsible for supporting the team in the identification of government and commercial payers’ requirement in terms of customer-perceived value, maximum willingness to pay and the supportive evidence requirements that will secure optimal pricing for both existing and new product portfolios.

Additionally, the Director Pricing and Payer Evidence is required to understand Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) and be able to incorporate this knowledge with pricing skills to formulate compelling evidence-based solutions that will support MAP team to positively influence guidelines and PRR team to pull-through coverage of existing and new products.

This business growth-oriented leader is also a member of the Payer Leadership Team (PLT), reporting to the VP HEOR, Market Access and Payer Strategy and effectively represents both the voice of the customer (Payers) and Payer Team internally and externally in the life sciences market. This role requires a visionary business leader, creative relationship builder, and strategic thinker who can ascertain what is needed to keep FMI ahead of the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough market landscape and competitor analyses on existing similar products to inform proper price positioning
  • Perform thorough market landscape and competitor dynamic analyses on future trends to inform solid visionary approach to pipeline products pricing
  • Build strong analytical plans defining the “winning price” requirements of the government and key commercial payers and LBMs.
  • Build fact-based pricing models supported with reliable-sourced market data, identify ideal coding and pricing strategy, structures and build multiple winning-price scenarios
  • Master both the art and science of product pricing that incorporates the product attributes, competitive positioning and customer value
  • Communicate effectively the pricing proposals to relevant functions and gain timely buy-in
  • Work cross-functionally with the payer, product, clinical development, sales and marketing teams to define and communicate pricing structure for FMI’s portfolio
  • Partner with new product launch team and act as the Voice-Of-Payer (VOP) in building the new product pricing strategy, corridors, and models

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or biosciences
  • 10+ years of progressive pricing and coding experience in biotechnology or life-science industry
  • Skills in building and communicating clinical and economic value models is required
  • 5+ years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the diagnostics’ industry including competitors and market trends
  • Experience working as a pricing analyst, with strong analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrated history of positive, collaborative leadership on an organization’s management team\
  • Proven track record of developing and executing effective pricing and coding strategies in the life sciences/diagnostics sector across a range of new product development and commercialization stages
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking through examples of long-term strategy accomplishments and ability to implement positive change in a dynamic and growing organization
  • Demonstrated success in leading and working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams in the development and execution of partnership commitments, ideally across multiple functional areas and development phases
  • Deep expertise in building relationships with an established history of building and maintaining multi-level relationships at customer organizations
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent skills in written communication, oral communication, collaboration, and problem solving with other departments and colleagues
  • Strong alignment with company’s purpose, values and mission, and history of inspiring this in one’s own team
  • Excellent organization and attention to details and business priorities
  • Understanding of HIPPA and importance of patient data privacy
