Technical Manager, Brand Design at Conagra Brands in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description:

As Technical Manager of Brand Design, with a specific focus on package design and printing, and reporting to a Senior Director, you will develop and oversee processes for project management and technical design work within the design function. Implement plans to enhance all partners to the same performance level through training and improvement programs. Coach the design function and brand partners, ensuring design intent is achievable on press, and maintain relationships with internal and external partners. Manage the Brand Color Management Program and support technical creative partnerships from design to print.

Your Impact:

• Develop processes and production for project management and technical oversight of package design work within Conagra Brands. Implement a plan to bring all groups up to the same process performance and technical level.


• Implement an ongoing continuous improvement program to maintain momentum for current processes and look for ways to improve the effectiveness.


• Eliminate rework by verifying early on that design intent is achievable on press as an integrated part of the design process.


• Maintain linkage with internal partners, customer design capabilities, and packaging suppliers to ensure quality products from prepress through production.


• Initial focus on our domestic Conagra business, with potential expansion across categories and international.


• Bring technical print and color experience to help improve prepress and printer technical capability and standards. Provide solutions and contribute technical print support. Manage expectations and confirm the printer's ability to meet design intent.


• Guide and govern the Brand Color Management Program through the organization.


• Manage technical creative partnership development from design agency to prepress to print for packaging graphics. Expertise in print technology, color management, and workflows from brief to execution.


• Be a liaison between prepress, procurement, and printers.

Your Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.


• 7+ years' experience in holistic design or innovation.


• Experience documenting requirements.


• Team-orientation working with cross-functional partners.


• Back up assumptions and develop business cases.


• Experience diving deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape.


• Solutions-orientation with a history of solving unique, complex problems that have a broad, inter-connected impact on the business.

Located in downtown Chicago along the Chicago River, our corporate headquarters is in the landmark Merchandise Mart building, with access to public transit, and several options for dining and shopping in the area.

Compensation:

Pay Range:$104,000-$152,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity.Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
