Job Description:

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Identify, research, and generate new leads through both inbound and outbound channels, including cold calling, emails, social media outreach, and event cultivation. Qualify leads based on established criteria (e.g., budget, needs, decision-making authority) and ensure high-quality leads are passed to the business development team.

  • Develop and execute strategies for proactive lead generation to build a steady flow of new business opportunities.

  • Nurture leads through ongoing communication to keep them engaged and move them through the early stages of the sales pipeline.

  • Act as the initial point of contact for new prospects, engaging them with personalized outreach and effectively assessing their needs to determine the best fit for the company's solutions. Tailor communication to the unique needs of each prospect, ensuring a personalized and relevant experience.

  • Schedule meetings with qualified leads, ensuring alignment between the prospect's needs and the appropriate business development professional. Collaborate with the business development team to ensure smooth handoffs; prepare the team for meetings with relevant insights; and prioritize leads, ensuring that the most promising opportunities are being pursued effectively.

  • Maintain and update the CRM system (Salesforce) with accurate lead information, outreach activities, and progress updates. Track lead status, sales activities, and outcomes, ensuring timely follow-ups and smooth pipeline management.

  • Assist in the preparation of sales enablement materials, including presentations, proposals, and other documents to support the business development team's efforts in closing deals.

  • Provide insights into lead behavior, industry trends, and prospect feedback to inform sales strategy and improve outreach efforts.

  • Share key information about prospects to assist in the development of tailored sales strategies and improve conversion rates.

  • Provide administrative assistance to the business development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and coordinating communications.

  • Assist with internal operations, ensuring smooth processes and workflows to maximize team efficiency and overall business growth.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and best practices to inform lead-generation strategies and improve outreach efforts.

  • Analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and overall business development success.

  • Assume additional responsibilities, as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOUR WILL NEED

Bachelor's Degree

At least 5 years of professional work experience in sales, marketing, or business development support roles

Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills which includes being an excellent writer, speaker, and listener

Ability to take risks including being on the phone with new people every single day to explain Babson Executive Education's value proposition as it relates to the specific individual that is being spoken to; ability to initiate relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects

Ability to be flexible in an environment that is rapidly changing

Ability to become an informed and trusted guide on Babson's programs in a matter of weeks, and the curiosity to keep learning about all its intricacies for the future

Ability to interface with a variety of constituencies including clients and prospective clients, managers, team members, students, temporary employees, faculty, trustees, vendors, and alumni requiring sensitivity, diplomacy, and cooperation in all interactions

Ability to be creative and think out-of-the-box and be highly self-motivated

Must have strong teamwork skills as well as a strong commitment to customer service

Must have advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in PowerPoint, including the ability to design professional slides in PowerPoint; and significant experience and expertise in presentation design tools

Must have strong commitment to maintaining consistency and quality of materials

Must have excellent attention to detail; ability to proofread and take ownership for work assigned

Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results

Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions

Ability to manage multiple tasks and to meet client deadlines

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK


  • Occasional nights and weekend required.

  • Requires work onsite a minimum of 1 day a week; the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE


  • Previous experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development is preferred.

  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and lead management tools is a plus.

  • Knowledge of graphic design, and particularly the Adobe creative suite (e.g. InDesign) a plus though not required
