Job Summary:



Columbia Forest Products, North America's largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products, seeks a highly motivated and skilled ERP Programmer to join our growing team in support of a company-wide business transformation initiative.


The IT Systems Programmer will play a critical role in supporting our core business applications. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring the stability and performance of our IT infrastructure. This position will also involve participation in IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and integrations. As we transition to new systems and technologies, you will be provided the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to continue your support of the new systems.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical support for ERP, CMMS, Timber Accounting, and other critical business applications.

  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of system enhancements and customizations.

  • Participate in IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.

  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new technologies.

  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and define system specifications.

  • Provide ongoing support for existing legacy systems while transitioning to new platforms.

  • Through training and on-the-job exposure, learn about the business and industry that CFP participates in.




Qualifications:




Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise



  • Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2 years equivalent experience and training in software development, business analysis.

  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, documentation, and time management skills.



  • Travel:



  • Ability to travel to CFP business locations throughout the United States and Canada. A current valid passport is essential.



  • Skills:



  • Fluent in English.

  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise



  • Development language knowledge and proficiency in Aptean IAF (Gembase), C#, SQL, JavaScript, Oracle Apex, Microsoft .Net, X

  • Experience using Microsoft 365 services (Office Suite, Teams, Power BI, Power Platform).

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL development/admin tools and file transfer protocols.

  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management, Scrum methodologies, and Waterfall development techniques.

  • Knowledge of business functions and their IT system needs (sales, purchasing, inventory/warehousing, logistics, factory maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger).

  • Industry-recognized certifications applicable to this position.

  • Bilingual (English/French-Canadian and/or English/Spanish).
