About the Role


In this role, you will provide architectural and big picture oversight for the development of new or enhanced platforms, applications and solutions that will transform the way our customers interact across our retail channels.


You will be a hands-on architect/leader (player/coach) who will be responsible for:
*Leading and defining the architectural vision and strategy, develop roadmaps aligned with business goals and technology strategy.
*Ensure a seamless customer experience by creating a streamlined end-to-end solution design, ensuring quality and consistency of our software architecture across systems
*Lead architecture governance by establishing and enforcing architecture principles, standards and best practices for retail solutions. Drive design reviews and ensure designs are consistent across various portfolios
*Cultivate strategic long-term partnerships with business and technology senior level stakeholders
*Build a high-performing architecture team, provide mentorship across various architecture disciplines including technical architecture and business architecture ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
*Promote cross-functional collaboration between architects, product owners, program management and engineering to deliver seamless retail solutions.
*Establish an end-to-end operating model process with key partners and stakeholders across engineering, product management and program management that works in a SAFe Agile methodology as well as hybrid methodologies
*Lead Product Selection using an established methodology bringing together multiple cross-functional business and technology stakeholders resulting in product and platform alignment
*Partner and collaborate with other architecture leaders in Data & AI, Retail, Enterprise etc. to ensure designs account for cross functional stakeholders requirements.


What You'll Do




Enterprise & Solution Architecture Leadership




  • Define & Lead Unified Commerce Architecture Strategy - Develop a technology roadmap that unifies digital and in-store experiences, enabling seamless omnichannel commerce across eCommerce, stores, marketplaces, customer care and social platforms.


  • Drive Omnichannel & Unified Commerce Enablement - Architect scalable solutions that power services like Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store (BOPIS), Buy Online, Return In-Store (BORIS), and Endless Aisle.


  • Modernize Digital and MarTech Infrastructure - Lead product selection and build vs. buy decisions utilizing composable architecture principles ensuring resilient, cloud-native, and API-driven architectures to support scalability, personalization and seamless integrations.


  • Ensure Data Security & Compliance - Lead architecture decisions to comply with PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and other global retail regulations.




E-Commerce, DTC & Social Commerce




  • Lead Headless & composable Commerce Strategies - implement headless and composable commerce architectures to enable flexible and modular shopping experiences across web, mobile and new digital channels.


  • Expand DTC & Social Commerce Capabilities - Architect solutions that support direct-to-consumer (DTC) initiatives, influencer-driven commerce, and integrations with marketplaces (Amazon, TikTok Shop, Instagram Shopping).


  • Enhance AI-Powered Product Discovery & Merchandising - Leverage AI/ML for personalized recommendations, search, and automated merchandising.




Customer Experience, Loyalty & Social Selling




  • Unify Customer Engagement & Journey Activation - Design a customer-centric architecture that enables real-time engagement across digital, in-store, and mobile touchpoints.


  • Strengthen Loyalty & Rewards Platforms - Architect omnichannel loyalty programs that integrate POS, E-Commerce, and mobile apps to drive customer retention.


  • Enable Social Selling & Influencer Commerce - Support integrations with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube shopping to enhance digital selling




MarTech, Personalization & Journey Activation




  • Develop a Scalable Marketing Technology (MarTech) Stack - Architect integrations for CDP (Customer Data Platforms), CRM, Email, SMS and Mobile Marketing tools.


  • Enable Real-Time Personalization & Customer Journey Orchestration - Design solutions that support AI-driven segmentation, personalized promotions, and contextual customer interactions across platforms (both online and offline).


  • Optimize Customer Journey Activation & Engagement - Implement omnichannel journey automation tools to activate campaigns across paid, owned and earned media.




Data, AI & Retail Analytics Strategy




  • Implement Ai-Driven Customer Insights & Predictive Analytics - Architect data-driven solutions for real-time insights into customer behavior, sales trends, and marketing performance.


  • Develop a Unified Customer Data Strategy - Oversee the integration of Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Data Lakes, and Retail Analytics tools to drive business intelligence.

  • Lead a team of talented architects, focusing on fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging growth and recognizing achievements, ultimately creating a high-performing and successful team.


  • Create a culture of engagement and continual learning, supporting professional development and career growth for team members.

Who You Are




  • Hands-On Enterprise, Solution or Business Architecture leader with extensive understanding of omni-channel architectures in the retail space.

  • Expert on solving complex technical problems at senior levels leveraging experience with related technology stack and platforms.

  • Strategic ability to present and align architectural vision internally and externally at senior levels.

  • Influential and seasoned leader able to navigate complex situations to consensus and align architectural vision at senior levels both internally and externally.

  • Proven and demonstrable experience leading digital transformations in the retail domain in a complex environment.

  • Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to develop talent and build a high performing team; strong influencing skills and ability to work successfully with peers; a true team player.

  • Ability and willingness to not only manage and mentor a team but to also create roadmaps and high-level designs.

  • Experience working with, creating and managing off-shore teams and managed service providers to deliver architecture excellence.

  • Experience integrating in-store and online experiences (eg. BOPIS, BORIS, curbside pickup etc.)

  • Experience modernizing and architected omnichannel composable solutions in a complex and multi-brand environment

  • Experience in enabling seamless marketing solutions including personalization, A/B Testing.

  • Experience in the retail and apparel industry is preferred.

Salary Range: $227,800 - $313,200 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
