Join a leading company in the Maritime Industry in a critical role on our Sales & Marketing team! Moran Towing Corporation ( www.morantug.com ) has an exciting opportunity available as a Sales Coordinator in our New Canaan, CT office . This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in the office 3 days per week. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director, Sales.

Position Summary

The Sales Coordinator is integral to Moran Towing Corporation's efforts to enhance sales and operational efficiencies. This role is responsible for overseeing key aspects of sales operations, collections, invoicing, and ensuring seamless communication with internal management and our customers, while making independent decisions in managing daily activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with AR processes, and the ability to build relationships to ensure an outstanding customer experience. Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:


  • A blend of inside sales and direct customer engagement for a positive customer experience.

  • Communicate directly with customers, agents, representative foreign agents, and others at all management levels.

  • Act as the primary contact for customer inquiries and coordinate resolutions with local operations.

  • Coordinate, interpret, advise, and interface with Moran's ports on all contractual matters, down to the smallest detail.

  • Champion exceptional customer service by efficiently managing inquiries, resolving complaints, and leveraging feedback to improve relationships.

  • Manage, coordinate, and report on customer-related activity and planning under the Sales Contact Program.

  • Oversee accounts receivable processes, perform collections, ensuring timely payments, minimizing outstanding balances, and following up with customers to align with the company's accounts receivable goals.

  • Act as a key customer touchpoint, fostering positive relationships during collection activities and follow-ups.

  • Update customer contact databases when contacts and/or addresses change.

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks related to sales support, including managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Assist with special events and distribution of promotional materials to customers.

  • Participate in special projects and other related responsibilities under the direction of managers in Sales.

  • Perform daily administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Maritime, or a related field.

  • 1-3 Years of experience in an operational or administrative role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.

  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interactions with diverse stakeholder group.

  • Ability to positively represent Moran externally to customers and/or during events.

  • Demonstrated ability to:

    • Plan and organize with a goal orientation.

    • Work accurately and within timelines with an eye to detail and follow-up.

    • Exercise independent judgement and decision-making in executing job responsibilities. Seek help when necessary.

    • Work well independently and as a team player.

    • Learn and integrate knowledge by showing intellectual curiosity and initiative.



  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software.

  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.

  • Maritime industry experience with a comprehensive understanding of maritime operations and sales processes.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Ability to always work safely.

  • Close and color vision, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays.

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

  • Adept use of computers, including good finger dexterity.

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

  • Hearing and speaking, including the ability to present to an audience.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed mainly in a traditional office setting with periods of non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends. Customer entertainment and weekend customer events will be required during the year.

Our target pay range for the Sales Coordinator position is $68,000 -$78,000 per year. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
