We are looking for a safety minded, detail oriented individual to work with our Safety Department for the summer. As an intern within our Safety group, the selected candidate will assist in implementation of ongoing safety initiatives, assist with testing and projects as needed. Throughout the summer the intern will develop Safety Relationship Building strategies and learn about the role of the Safety professional in mining and construction industries. They will also be exposed to and participate in multimedia regulatory compliance inspections, corrective actions, and contingency planning.



Requirements:



Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment
The ideal candidate must be currently enrolled in a college degree program, preferably working towards a Safety Degree
Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment, with strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a team setting
Extended Hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights
Willingness to travel to other locations throughout NC
A valid driver's license
