The ideal candidate will provide critical technical support in the planning, integration, analysis, and risk management of weapon systems. General Function:
Support engineering management tasks and interact with AFLCMC and external agencies.
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations with various functional teams (base facilities, personnel, security, etc.).
Provide support for acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
Assist with technical aspects related to OSS&E (Operational Safety, Suitability, & Effectiveness).
Review ECPs (Engineering Change Proposals), RFVs (Requests for Variance), and maintain system configuration baselines.
Participate in technology insertion discussions, CCBs (Configuration Control Boards), and technical reviews.
Assist in failure analysis and system reliability improvements.
Support the entire weapons system lifecycle (from analysis to end-of-life).
Apply DoD, AF, and engineering principles to enhance weapon system operations, re-manufacture, and de-militarization.
Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and audits.
Assist in translating user needs into system requirements for design, testing, and deployment.
Support the development of technology needs, requirements, and plans for weapon system capabilities.
Support the review of system design baselines, architecture, and interoperability.
Assist in developmental planning and technical evaluations.
Evaluate and analyze change proposals, design feasibility, and system compatibility.
Support systems analysis, configuration audits, and state-of-the-art assessments.
Coordinate with agencies and vendors for mechanical engineering analyses and documentation.
Assist in the development and evaluation of engineering schedules and cost estimates.
Support system testing plans and recommend improvements.
Assist in systems/subsystems integration during the acquisition and development stages.
Support systems lifecycle, including manufacturing, support, and end-of-life processes.
Conduct performance, cost, and reliability assessments.
Coordinate communication with management and functional counterparts.
Support committees/boards discussing engineering problems and decisions.
Evaluate generated data items (specifications, reports, plans, etc.) for compliance and effectiveness.
Assist in creating and reviewing key documents (System Requirements, Engineering Plans, Safety Evaluations)
Support program management in the development and evaluation of schedules and test plans.
Provide support for the design, development, and testing of aircrew and maintenance training systems.
Apply advanced engineering concepts to improve system performance.
Provide guidance and expertise to support major AFLCMC programs.
Assist in feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technological evaluations.
Assist in creating and maintaining security and program protection documents.
Ensure compliance with security policies and guidelines.
Support the PPP tasks including security working groups, identifying critical program information, and analyzing system vulnerabilities.
Assist in technical planning, systems integration, risk analysis, and supportability evaluations for weapon systems.
Assist in identifying and mitigating technical and program architecture risks.
Support system integration and interoperability analysis.
Apply mechanical engineering principles to determine technical needs for weapon systems and related equipment.
Carry out other administrative duties as assigned or requested.
Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, and customers.
Follow policies and procedures as described in corporate manuals and directives.
Attend work each day during scheduled work hours unless on approved travel or time off.
Perform occasional travel to contractor and customer sites, as required (see WORKING CONDITIONS below).
Work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
MA Degree, OR, BA Degree and 3-10 years of experience related to the position requirements.
Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook)
Must be able to transport self to various facility
