Position Title: Compression Fleet Engineer I/II/Sr

Description: The engineer provides highly technical engineering services for the planning, design, and procurement of compression projects for BHE Compression Services contract compression fleet. Responsibilities include design, cost estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contract administration, cost analysis, and inspections. Conducts engineering studies and investigations and prepares oral and written reports. Provides engineering assistance to other departments.
Responsibilities: Initiate, coordinate, design and implement engineering projects.
Provide engineering and technical direction services to support the BHECS compression fleet.
Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, and cost analysis.
Conduct economic and technical feasibility studies, investigating various alternatives, and making recommendations on course of action.
Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Keep informed of industry issues and technical trends.
Performance Expectations (Key Success Factors) Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of engineering standards of oilfield equipment and more specifically engine driven natural gas reciprocating compressor packages and their ancillary components.
Provide effective leadership, organization, planning and control of project assignments
Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy; complete project assignments to meet customer needs and achieve cost, schedule and reliability objectives.
Provide safe and efficient engineering services.

Qualifications: This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the levels posted, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is needed for all levels.
The Engineer I position requires zero to one year of related engineering experience. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong technical writing ability. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills: ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. The Engineer II position requires one to three years of engineering experience. Must have significant engineering knowledge of natural gas industry related to the design and installation of pipelines, compressor stations and process equipment. The Sr Engineer position requires five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license, then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer. Advanced technical degree or registration as a licensed professional engineer in a state served by Northern preferred.
Must have significant engineering knowledge of natural gas industry related to the design and installation of rotating equipment and engine driven natural gas compressor packages.
