Job Summary:

We are searching for a Director of Supply Chain who is highly knowledgeable about supply chain processes, supply chain management and understands the regulatory requirements of the medical device industry. This position will be an integral part of our organization that is responsible for building and leading the Supply Chain Team in the areas materials management, procurement, supplier contract negotiation and supplier management. This position will be integral in the configuration and implementation of the company's new ERP system. The Director Supply Chain must be passionate in this field and is driven to implement new processes along with solving problems to support bringing new products to market, scaling for growth, identifying and implementing solutions that lower cost of goods.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and execution to implement a new ERP system.
  • Develops and implements long-term supply chain strategies.
  • Aligns supply chain activities with overall company goals.
  • Identify and address potential supply chain risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Manages transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Optimizes transportation routes and logistics networks.
  • Negotiates contracts with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Develops and implements sourcing and cost reduction opportunities/strategies.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts with global suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
  • Leads and manages purchasing and warehouse functions.
  • Manages inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs.
  • Implements inventory management systems and processes.
  • Monitors inventory performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Leads and motivates supply chain teams.
  • Develops and mentors team members.
  • Ensures team members have the necessary skills and training.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain performance.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implements corrective actions.
  • Continuously seeks ways to optimize supply chain processes and reduce costs.
  • Collaborates with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Develops and leads company's SIOP process.
  • Communicates effectively with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Provides leadership in supplier management process.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation.
  • Complies with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements (ISO), company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related major.
  • 10+ years of experience in a supply chain role in the medical device industry.
  • Contract negotiation and management.
  • ERP systems working knowledge.
  • Procurement, materials management, and warehouse operations.
  • Cleanroom manufacturing and sterilization services knowledge.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, Internet, e-mail skills
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as QSR, ISO13485
  • Strong collaboration, team building and development skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with speaking competency in English.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Prior experience working in emerging, start-up companies desired.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with ERP systems integration.
  • Prior Medical device manufacturing experience, with working knowledge of:
  • ISO standards
  • GMP regulations

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position supports operations and sales, and requires working with Manufacturing, R&D, Sales and Quality supporting new product introduction, scale for growth and cost of goods reduction. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking along with daily use of a computer and other digital devices. Work may entail standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some travel will be required; therefore, maintaining a valid Driver's License and Passport is required.
