Digital Analytics Manager Tracking Code1111-674Job DescriptionPosition Description: Valparaiso University is seeking a highly skilled digital analytics manager to lead our web analytics and digital performance reporting efforts. Reporting within the university marketing team, this position will work closely with our digital marketing strategist, web content manager, and enrollment data analyst from the enrollment management division. The ideal candidate will take over and enhance our data enablement functions, driving innovation in web tracking, reporting, and digital performance measurement utilizing GA4 and Google Tag Manager. You will be part of a supportive team, collaborating on various digital initiatives. Major Responsibilities: Web Analytics & Tracking Implementation (50%)
Lead the development and maintenance of web analytics tracking strategies using GA4 and Google Tag Manager.Transition and integrate analytics processes from an external vendor to an in-house solution.Develop and implement enhanced tracking strategies to capture critical user interactions and digital performance metrics.
Data Analysis & Reporting (30%)
Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports to monitor digital performance, user behavior, and marketing campaign effectiveness.Translate complex data sets into actionable insights for digital strategy and decision-making.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and optimize tracking for marketing and enrollment initiatives.
Collaboration & Innovation (15%)
Work closely with the Digital Marketing Strategist on SEO, ad campaigns, and other digital initiatives by providing data-driven insights.Liaise with the Enrollment Data Analyst to align digital performance metrics with overall enrollment and admission goals.Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvements in digital tracking and analytics.
Process Improvement & Strategy (5%)
Identify opportunities for process automation and improved data capture to support strategic marketing initiatives.Develop best practices for digital measurement and tracking within the department.Provide training and guidance to team members on analytics tools and methodologies.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, data analytics, information systems, or a related field.A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital analytics or a related role, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex environment.
Other Qualifications:
Proven expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager.Strong experience with web analytics tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI).Proficiency in digital performance reporting and data-driven marketing analysis.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.Strong understanding of web metrics, user behavior analysis, and digital marketing analytics.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and admissions.Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively share complex data insights with non-technical stakeholders.Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and digital customer acquisition.Knowledge and experience with Slate CRM technology preferred.
