Analyze machining and assembly remanufacturing processes to design the best method of remanufacturing and overhauling to safely produce a quality product on time.
Collaborate with teams in quality, operations, materials, and product engineering for resolution of issues and root cause analysis
Plan and implement safety, quality and productivity improvements in the spirit of continuous improvement
Maintain labor routings and operator worker allocations
Develop processes using existing SAP and IT software tools for unique customer and workshop requests and needs
Support work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
Suggest and plan improvements to work center layouts to improve product and process flow
Create and maintain drawings reflecting current workcenter setup and processes in workshop
Perform work measurements as needed supporting operations to improve health, safety, and performance of staff
Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
Prepare and present charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization
Evaluate and present recommendations to management for manpower, schedules, capacity, performance and other key performance indicators
Support creation of standard work instructions, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications
Observe workers operating equipment to performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices and recommend solutions
Provide assistance with product engineering support to shop floor with design and product related issues
Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and 3 years of engineering experience in the design, manufacture, assembly, or testing of internal combustion engines; or 7 years of engineering experience in the design, manufacture, assembly, or testing of internal combustion engines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Toyota Production System (or equivalent) concepts
Strong knowledge of routing design and related transaction codes within SAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex challenges effectively.
Strong ability to interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
Strong oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, and materials.
Effective presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly and persuasively.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Creo, or similar design and drafting software.
Proficiency in PC applications and the MS Office Suite, along with knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing efficiency.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Practical experience working with MTU diesel engines.
Strong understanding of product-specific information and applications.
Familiarity with ISO/QS-9000 standards and their implementation.
Proficiency in using SAP for business and operational processes.
Hands-on experience with Windchill for product lifecycle management.
