Bowling Green State University (BGSU) invites applications for a Collections and Content Analysis Librarian with faculty rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. The Collections & Content Analysis Librarian assesses, strategically develops, and manages collections. The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Library Teaching & Learning (LTL) within the University Libraries (UL) and is a full time, twelve-month, qualified rank faculty appointment. 

Essential Functions

Lead detailed analyses of library collections to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.

Maintain an awareness of the trends and issues affecting acquisitions and collection development and collection management, with an emphasis on monographs and physical holdings.

Provide guidance to subject librarians on the selection of monographic content.

Co-lead a team of subject librarians in collection development planning in partnership with the Collections and Electronic Resources Librarian.

Regularly review collection development and approval plans to meet the resource needs of researchers and degree programs in partnership with subject librarians.

Spearhead collection management through leading regular assessment of the print, e-book, and serials collections.

Collaborate with the budget office on the implementation of the collections budget and the acquisition of library materials.

Analyze collection usage data, support assessment efforts, and contribute to accreditation and curricular reports.

Represent the library in campus curricular meetings and support alignment of library collections with curriculum proposals.

Conduct outreach to campus partners, demonstrating the value of library collections to the academic community.

Provide reference services, individual consultations, and workshops to support faculty and student research needs.
