We are seeking a full-time Associate Graphic Designer in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective creative solutions for a wide variety of traditional mediums and prepares final artwork for production and may also partner with Art Directors and business partners to perform final layouts on launch and campaign materials.
Essential Functions
Contributes to the development and visualization of multiple design layouts for basic projects
Partners with Art Directors to bring original concepts to final layout
Prepares layouts for final production, including, but not limited to, printer and vendor specs
Partners with senior team members and business partners to identify and define project parameters
Finalizes layouts into finished comps for presentation, reviews and approvals
Offers suggestions for improving processes, standards and guidelines
Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities, works collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates, and understands/applies Garmin's Mission, Vision and Values
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academic qualifications with ability to effectively apply learned knowledge
Efficient in Mac OS computer skills utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Keynote
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional understanding and use of design and layout
Demostrates knowledge of the application of pre-press production methods and final production follow through
Good working awareness of vast array of methods and resources to implement an idea
Demonstrates aptitude to learn and effectively apply knowledge of Communications practices, processes, programs and technology
Demonstrates the ability to estimate the level of effort for a task
Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, work well with others, be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to maintain accuracy and a high level of quality in a fast paced environment
Demonstrates an understanding of effective time management, organizational, and follow up skills
Demonstrates basic knowledge of Garmin's organization, customers, market segments, products, operations and strategies
Desired Qualifications
College Degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design or related field OR equivalent experience
