Job Description:

Job Title: Accounting Generalist
Reports to: Controller
Job Overview:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Generalist supports various accounting department activities that include payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This position will prepare, process, maintain, and verify accounting documents and perform other related duties as assigned. This is an entry-level position that is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented and eager to learn. This role may be required to work occasional night and weekends, during peak season.
Key Job Accountabilities:
ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATIVE
Assist with AP data entry, filing and scanning vendor invoices, and preparing checks for distribution when necessary. Reconcile vendor account statements and track receipts for credit card back-up. Perform office support duties such as organizing and maintaining files, correspondence, reports, forms, and reviewing materials for accuracy and completeness. Pick up and route mail/packages to appropriate office personnel and drop off mail/packages when necessary. Provide office management assistance and other administrative tasks in support of both accounting and executive departments Assist in maintaining fleet records and coordinating registration renewals with various departments. Assist management in documenting accounting procedures and preparing presentations for company-wide training. Conduct ad-hoc research and reporting. Other duties as assigned
PAYROLL
Help coordinate payroll related employee concerns between HR and Payroll Support miscellaneous pre and post payroll processing tasks. Payroll processing back up support, including miscellaneous payroll adjustments. Research and correct problems related to payroll, in collaboration with Paymaster/Controller. Respond to employee concerns and questions.

Training and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of high school diploma/AA degree and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience with large integrated payroll and HR software is desired, Kronos/ UKG Workforce Ready is preferred. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains desired. Practice exceptional ethical behavior, maintaining extreme confidentiality regarding payroll, personnel, and sensitive financial information. Ability to understand complex rules and laws related to payroll and accounting and follow instructions correctly. Ability to perform with extreme accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent customer and employee interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under time pressure, often independently. Ability to work well with a team and to collaborate with others. Strong MS Excel skills.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit for long periods.
Able to work on a computer for long periods.
Able to lift to 45lbs with assistance.
Ability to see, read, and interpret documents.
