Description:

Position Overview The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist is responsible for acquiring high-quality radiographs and providing fluoroscopy guidance for diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic purposes. This role requires expertise in radiologic technology, radiographic equipment, and patient positioning.



Schedule:

• (5) 8-hour shifts


• Daytime: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Education and Experience Requirements



NEW GRADS WELCOME!

• ARRT certification required


• New York State Radiologic Technology license required


• New graduates will receive a temporary permit valid for six months or until successful completion of ARRT Radiology boards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push/pull and lift/move up to 35 lbs.


• Moderate manual tasks such as keyboard use, writing, and filing for extended periods.


• Tasks requiring hand-eye coordination (e.g., typing, data entry, using photocopiers).


• Stationary work at a workstation for prolonged periods, as well as mobility tasks like squatting or moving over reasonable distances and durations.


• English language comprehension for effective communication and reading.

Responsibilities-




Technical Requirements:

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting issues independently, or via proper channels.


• Independent work in diagnostic radiology, particularly in the operating room, with portable x-ray machinery and c-arm equipment.


• Medical assistant duties as necessary based on the employment location.


• Proficiency in operating fluoroscopy, portable units, c-arms, and other diagnostic radiographic equipment.


• Participation in all OR procedures with competency and independence.


• Completion of paperwork, tracking, scanning, and verifying studies.


• Monitoring PACS for problem studies and call reports.


• Documentation of exam details (e.g., time, number of images, clinical information).


• Patient preparation and explanation of procedures.


• Administering solutions such as barium or contrast agents and ensuring appropriate shielding.

Departmental and Institutional Requirements:

• Stay updated on policies, protocols, and work rules.


• Flexibility in assignments, shifts, and campus rotations for departmental needs.


• Adherence to our standards, policies, and procedures.


• Maintaining cleanliness and stock in downtime.


• Compliance with Per Diem policies (e.g., holiday requirements, minimum hours per month).


• Mentoring and teaching radiologic technology students.
