We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and organized individual to join our Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) OpEx team as a Sr. Business Process PMO Manager. In this role, you will strategically lead a team of program managers and a portfolio of projects aligning to the site strategy.

As the Sr. PMO manager, you will enable the site strategy through the identification, estimation, and securing of project funding in support of the MECC Mission, and continuously improve the business processes used by the PMO and the functional organizations they interact with to achieve efficient project execution and deliver the projects with world class quality.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners to successfully deliver projects on time, assess deliverable trade-offs, drive system accounting, and leverage the PMO governance to ensure alignment.

As a Sr. Business Process PMO Manager, you will:

  • Drive Portfolio Execution

    • Lead program managers to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.

    • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as the liaison between functions supporting key programs.


  • Review the status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
  • Monitor the portfolio for overall execution and delivery.
  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement of Project Management Process

  • Improve mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with core operations managers, project leaders, and stakeholders.

  • Establish best practices for developing, implementing, and maintaining program management processes.

  • Collaborate with project teams and finance to improve project spend, forecast, and ROI financial cost modeling and reporting.

  • Enable MECC Site Strategy

  • Communicate with and enable stakeholder engagement to ensure objective and processes meet business goals and initiatives.

  • Identify projects in support of the 5-year site strategy.

  • Work with management team and stakeholders on initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, closing and re-prioritizing projects.

  • Initiate and pitch project opportunities to business leaders internal and external to MECC.

  • Provide feedback to functional department heads during AOP/strategic planning process.

Other Skills & Abilities:


  • Exceptional project management skills; knowledge of process and project planning best practices.

  • Experience with reporting, program and/or portfolio management/skills, and managing through risk mitigations.

  • Strong track record of leading complex projects requiring strong influence management skills and willingness and ability to institute change.

  • Strong communication and relationship skills

  • Strong presentation skills, both delivery and development

  • Business acumen; ability to think from an overall "best for the business" perspective

  • Customer-first mentality and ability to understand customer requirements and incorporate into business decisions.

  • Ability to negotiate and manage competing priorities across multiple functional areas

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 7 years of business process/program and people management experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of business process/program and people management experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in project/program management in medical industry and/or medical device industry
  • PMP, PgPM, PfPM, Lean Six Sigma certifications
  • Experience implementing or executing Operational Excellence strategy, new process, tools and program and/or portfolio dashboards
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tool suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerBI, Project, Teams)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$143,200.00 - $214,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
