SUMMARY: Responsible for administering efficient and economical movement of cargo; resolving cargo transportation needs and/or processing documentation within established deadlines.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage complex tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
• Secure fuel supply for distribution throughout Western Alaska and the Arctic.
• Establish terminal resupply volume for resale monthly. Ensure invoices are accurate and in accordance with the physical shipment and customer/other regulatory requirements.
• Review proposals and make recommendations and/or modifications in rates.
• Ensure compliance with all U.S. regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a liaison with customers by keeping them updated on the status of cargo being transported.
• Prepare, review, approve and maintain files for import/export documents.
• Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement. EDUCATION: Associate's degree in business/related field or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience transportation experience in Logistics, Booking, Customer Service, Sales, Invoicing, Inventory, Pricing, and or Fuel Shipping.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

• Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines.

• Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities.
• Ability to function effectively with or as part of a team.
• Skill in preparing clear and concise documents, including, but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
• Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity.
• Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
OTHER: Sales background a plus.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
