“A Day in the Life”

The IT Infrastructure Director is the senior-most role in the infrastructure and operations (I&O) function, reporting directly to the head of IT. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership over the organization's technical infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud systems, networking, telephony, Microsoft 365, Azure, cybersecurity, and IT Service Management (ITSM). The role oversees teams like Service Desk, Network, Security, and Technical Procurement while ensuring the infrastructure's security, stability, and scalability. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a track record of managing technical teams and driving service delivery excellence. This role also involves influencing business leadership to ensure the success of IT initiatives across the enterprise.

“What You’ll Do”

• Set the mission, vision and strategy of the team to maximize alignment and success of the business and IT enterprise initiatives.


• Link the organization’s value to business outcomes and address future-state capabilities, deliver OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) relative to the strategy of the business


• Introduce innovative, differentiating infrastructure, operations, network and security capabilities that will enhance the overall competitive capabilities and employee productivity


• Oversee the Security & Compliance Manager to ensure the team successfully applies the security strategy throughout the enterprise.


• Operate the formal compliance and governance structures to establish, monitor and improve effective controls for processes and functions including managing policies, procedures and technical documentation.


• Provide strategic direction and oversight for full life cycle of IT systems, working in close partnership with team and peers; drive efficiency within shared platforms


• Develops the maturity of I&O to improve efficiency, deliver new innovations and increase collaboration with other IT and business areas (e.g., through Agile, DevOps, platform, and product approaches).


• Drive adoption of service delivery improvements using a programmatic approach to continuous improvement which also measures impact and shares results.


• Continuously evaluates the business value of I&O, using Key Performance Indicators, Outcome Driven Metrics and Objectives and Key Results.


• Develop high performing teams with accountability and ownership. Proactively coach and develop to resolve conflict, enhance both technical and soft skills, and build strong relationships within and across teams and business areas.


• Plan, budget, and lead cross-functional IT projects.


• Lead merger and acquisition (M&A) technical due diligence and integration planning and execution.


• Lead the adoption of framework (e.g. ITIL) based best practices.


• Ensure teams follow system change best practices for reviews, approvals, design, build, test, communication, deployment, hyper-care and adoption.


• Ensure teams maintain accurate records of systems assets and architectures and ensure changes are communicated and understood.


• Oversee team’s vendor management relationships and contracts to ensure value delivery, performance, appropriate licensing, renewals, and adherence to budget.

“Must Haves”

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar degree, or equivalent work experience with 10+ years in a senior technical leadership position


• 4+ years experience administering and managing Microsoft Office 365 tenant account, Exchange on-line, Azure AD, cloud-based infrastructure (Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure)


• Experience supporting a complex infrastructure across an enterprise with multiple locations


• CCNA, CISSP, ITIL desired.


• PMP, CISSM, Azure Solutions Architect desired.


• Excellent Leadership, customer service, communication and relationship skills


• Extensive working knowledge of Cybersecurity, compliance, and networking


• Extensive working knowledge of supporting, maintaining and administering Microsoft operating systems, including Active Directory and all versions of Windows Servers


• Extensive experience with networking including Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) and/or Palo Alto Network Administrator (PCNSA)


• Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365


• Working knowledge of Virtualization Environments (VMware) and storage and backup systems

Location of Position – Dallas / Fort Worth TX metro area, Hybrid work environment

Special Considerations:

• Ability to work after-hours or weekends as necessary


• Ability for infrequent travel to company branch sites


• Some infrequent lifting of computer equipment
