Position Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, leads and oversees shipping and receiving operations for inbound and outbound materials, products, bundles, and miscellaneous supplies including the scheduling, arrangement, on time delivery, and coordination of transportation to ensure shipping/receiving timelines are met utilizing the ERP (EPICOR) system. This role involves coordinating with various departments to meet production schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including loading, and unloading trucks, inspecting shipments, and verifying contents.
Train and provide guidance to shipping and receiving team members to ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
Collaborate with production and procurement departments to prioritize shipments, resolve issues, and optimize workflow efficiency.
Implement and enforce safety protocols, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in shipping and receiving operations.
Maintains inventory records and requisitions ingredients/supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules. Inspects materials and products to maintain organization standards.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments. Responsible for the work effort and the appraisal of personnel.
Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, including proper storage, disposal of materials, and maintain 5S standards.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, address concerns, and ensure timely deliveries.
Organize shipments using transportation management software (TA Services)
Create bill of lading (BOL) and supporting documents for truck load (TL) and less than truckload (LTL) shipments
Assists in coordination of shipping/receiving schedules to achieve customer satisfaction and optimal revenue and margins.
Work overtime as needed to meet the schedule. Communicates reasoning for needing OT.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Effectively manage timecards and Epicor time keeping of direct reports
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in production operations.
Position Qualifications:
5 years' experience in manufacturing
Please note a combination of experience and education will be considered.
OSHA certification, preferred.
Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours a day Able to lift 30 pounds.
Able to walk for extended periods of time.
