Your Role:
A Material Handler II is responsible for the daily performance of the warehouse processes assigned by Management and responsible with assisting the other Material Handlers on the warehouse team. The employee will assure optimum performance by maintaining full compliance with operating instructions, Company policies, and procedures as well as assuring the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the warehouse processes. The Material Handler II will assist Management in establishing performance, job skill, environmental and safety expectations for their areas of responsibility within the Warehouse Department. The Material Handler II will also have the responsibility, when assigned by Management, to oversee any on-the-job training for the Material Handler I and Material Handler II classifications.
Assure safe and environmentally compliant operation of the warehouse processes
Efficiently move materials within the facility using various equipment (e.g., sit-down and standup forklifts, pallet jack, hand truck) to pick, sort, and place materials in designated areas
Obtain certification and operate Jockey truck to relocate and spot trailers for loading and unloading
Receiving materials, products, and equipment, and storing them in the warehouse in an organized manner in accordance with process procedures
Shipping all outbound and receiving all inbound materials using Company policies and procedures
Perform all required SAP entries and transactions as required by Warehouse Management
Communicate with other departments (e.g., Supply Chain, Quality, Production, Transportation, Customer Service) as required
Picking, inspecting, packing, and preparing materials, products, and equipment for shipment and delivery to production in accordance with process procedure
Perform setup and breakdown of pallets as required
Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trucks and trailers
Maintaining records of received, stored, and distributed materials, products and equipment
Maintain accurate inventory records by identifying, labeling, tracking materials, supplies, and reporting shortages
Sample raw materials and store in accordance with process procedures
Participate in inventory counts and cycles to ensure accuracy
Assist in locating and retrieving materials as needed
Verify and update that procedures used are best practices and are in line with written WIs and SOPs
Perform other duties assigned by management, such as assisting with shipping, receiving, and inventory activities
Physical Attributes:
Ability stand and move for extended periods
Ability to work extended hours (12-14) as required
Work at times in extreme climates (high/low temperatures and humidity)
Climb stairs, ladders and walk long distances during the workday
Move and handle heavy objects with appropriate equipment
Ability to lift and carry materials, potentially requiring the use of proper lifting techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Successfully complete annual physical associated with material handling and PPE usage
Location: Martin, SC Shift 7am to 3:30pm EST with occasional overtime
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED along with 5+ years of warehouse, stock control, inventory management or manufacturing process experience
5+ years of forklift experience or mobile equipment
2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite with specific emphasis on Excel and Word
2+ years of experience working with SAP (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing)
1+ years working experience utilizing basic math coursework
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Logistics, or Business Administration with 3+ years of warehouse, stock control, or inventory management experience
A High School/GED degree with 8+ years of warehouse, stock control, inventory management
3+ years in a leadership role with ability to lead and supervise other employees in a fast-paced warehouse environment
8+ years forklift or mobile equipment experience
Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills who can function effectively in a team environment
CPR and First Aid certification
Exposure to Lean Six Sigma and ISO certification
