Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Database Analystfor our client located in Montgomery, AL.
This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.
Job Overview:
Senior Database Developer (Advanced) Senior level SQL Server and Azure Database Developer working both independently and within team environments that will operate in all aspects of RDBMS database design, security, and administration; to include proficiency with Azure DevOps.
Develops and supports an overall data architecture that supplies the information needs of the business in an optimized and secure environment.
Ability to comprehend and author complex and extensive SQL code with the expectations of maintaining and rewriting legacy processes to accommodate versioning and infrastructure changes.
SQL programming skills should be denoted via efficient, effective, and secure syntax, acceptable peer code reviews, consistent and demonstratable product results, and robust documentation principles.
Responsible for designing, modeling, developing and supporting Enterprise Database Management Systems (DBMS) for Government Systems, to include cloud-based architecture and security protocols.
Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database design that meet system(s) requirements.
Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data and determine relevance and meaning within the enterprise environment.
Ability to gather business requirements from process owners and translate that information into viable data models and elements supporting application development.
Develops robust database and data warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments, considered a senior level data professional with the ability to manage complex projects.
Must also attend and participate in all assigned project meetings.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Azure SQL/DB.
5+ years Candidate should be extremely proficient with Data Manipulation Language (DML), Data Query Language, (DQL), and Data Control Language (DCL) as well as data management concepts such as normalization, aggregation, concurrency, and data modeling, to include data interchange formats such as JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
5+ years of Azure Cloud services, BLOB Storage, DevOps, SQL Data Tools, MS Power Apps, SQL Reporting Services, and MS Power BI are additional resources that the candidate should be highly provisioned for in the implementation of enterprise level services.
6+ years of IT work experience in DBA, DBMS design\support and relevant data computing environments.
Strong expertise in Data Modeling - Logical Modeling, Physical Modeling, Relational Modeling, ER Diagrams, Entities, Attributes, Cardinality, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
Security driven concepts are top priority in all development and applied against standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Microsoft Trust Center (Azure compliance), Penetration testing, and any internal departmental policies.
Candidate will possess superior communication and documentation skills, strong decision making and organizational attributes along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Large organizational transition from on-premises to cloud-based architecture.
Extended Experience utilizing the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process alongside the Agile development environment utilizing SRUM framework.
Candidate will work closely with Project Management, Application Designers, Data Administrators and Project Owners in workflow and business rule discovery, application design assistance, data modeling, and any applicable project related implementation of process controls.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems AND equivalent work experience. (6-10 years)
Education Preferred:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems AND equivalent work experience. (6-10 years)
