Job Summary A position is available within the Meditation Research Program (Principal Investigator [PI]: Matthew D. Sacchet, Ph.D.; website: http://meditation.mgh.harvard.edu/) at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Our research is in affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and is focused on developing a scientific understanding of advanced meditation (skills, states, stages, and transformations related to mastery and continued practice of meditation). Ongoing appointment is contingent upon performance and continued availability of funding. This position offers an excellent opportunity for junior scientists looking for research experience before applying to graduate school in the mind sciences (including neuroscience and clinical psychology Ph.D. programs) or medical school, or related positions in industry.
Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collects & organizes patient data
Maintains records and databases
Uses software programs for data analysis, graph generation, and reports
Assists with recruiting patients for research
Obtains patient study data from medical records, physicians, etc.
Conducts library searches
Verifies the accuracy of study forms
Updates study forms per protocol
Documents patient visits and procedures
Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures
Assists with interviewing study subjects
Administers and scores questionnaires
Explains the study and obtains informed consent from subjects
Performs study procedures.
Assists with study regulatory submissions
Writes consent forms
Verifies subject inclusion/exclusion criteria
Administrative support duties
