The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) seeks a dynamic relationship builder to serve as Alumni Relations Consultant (Director of Alumni Relations). This role empowers SPH-B students and alumni to thrive within a community that unites education, experience, and opportunity. Located on Indiana University's flagship campus, the School of Public Health-Bloomington has over 4,000 students, 220 faculty, and 130 staff across 5 departments: Applied Health Science, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health and Wellness Design, and Kinesiology.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
Engages alumni as lifelong partners, supporting individual career journeys and fostering success.
Reports to the Assistant Dean for Career Development and Alumni Relations, and collaborates with the Executive Director of Development.
Plans and executes strategies that strengthen alumni connections, fosters communication, recognizes achievements, and values alumni as mentors and changemakers.
Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy, identifies key alumni markets.
Further develops the alumni-student mentorship program.
Organizes alumni engagement opportunities.
Collaborates with marketing and communications to highlight alumni using various communication channels.
Collaborates with development to identify and cultivate alumni partnerships.
Seeks feedback from alumni.
General Responsibilities
Leads the planning, development and implementation of alumni programs and major ceremonies/events that complement and advance the goals of university alumni and development offices, academic units and student life.
Identifies and cultivates relationships with both alumni and students to promote engagement as volunteers on committees and in programs and as dues paying members of the alumni association.
Develops and manages a portfolio of alumni, volunteers, donors and prospects. Collaborates with other units on fundraising efforts and events.
Collaborates with internal department partners and volunteer leaders to develop plans and implement programs (professional development, celebrations, fundraising) that connect students and alumni and increase engagement and participation of the local service community and the worldwide alumni community and supporters.
Establishes and coordinates opportunities that retain students and alumni in a lifelong relationship connected to the university.
Oversees the design and production of alumni-related marketing and communication, including online, social media and web content.
Manages unit operations and budgets; may manage a team of staff.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
